SENIOR SOLUTIONS

Senior Solutions is a non-profit agency in Boise, Idaho that has provided services for senior citizens for over 50 years.. This non-profit is completely funded through the communities of Boise City and Ada County with contracts, grants, fundraising projects, and private donations. Senior Solutions also offers many services including: information and support services, senior housing, assistance, telephone reassurance from volunteers to assure their safety and well being, and volunteer opportunities for the elderly. Elder clients can volunteer to be a telephone reassurance caller, grocery shopper, minor repair worker, transportation, or visiting people.

In addition to the services available to elders above, there is a subsidized taxi program as well. This is for disabled people who cannot drive themselves.

The senior center in Boise welcomes those who are 50 years and older and is also managed by this non-profit agency. At the Boise Senior Center, the elderly can participate in meals, health education and screenings, exercise classes, art classes, bingo, foot clinics, computer classes, driving lessons, and legal counsel. Seniors are also able to volunteer in positions at the center. The Senior Center also holds events such as fairs, dances, or day trips. Within the center, there is a craft and thrift store in which the elderly may give to, managed by volunteers.
